The permanent headquarters of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) was opened at the Istanbul World Trade Center on September 3, 2006.
The opening of the Headquarters was continued with the inauguration ceremony at Dolmabache palace with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Racap Tayyip Erdogan also OIC Secretary-General, representatives of the governments of the OIC member countries as well as European Union, UN, Council of Europe, ISESCO and other international organizations.
ICYF-DC President Mr.Ali Sarikaya and Secretary-General Mr. Elshad Iskandarov informed the guests about the decision of the Government of Turkey to host the headquarters to ICYF-DC in the Istanbul World Trade Center after the Forum was granted (by the virtue of the Sana’a resolution adopted by the 32nd session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers held in Sana’a, Yemen in June 2005) with the status of the institution affiliated to the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
ICYF-DC and Istanbul World Trade Center signed an Agreement on the Permanent Headquarters.
The ceremony was addressed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Racap Tayyip Erdogan, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Bulent Arinc, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz, Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, chairman of the Buyuksheher municipality of Istanbul Kadir Topbash, ICYF-DC President Ali Sarikaya and its Secretary-General Elshad Iskandarov and others.
The Prime Minister of Turkey expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for supporting the forum from the very first days of its founding.
ICYF-DC inauguration ceremony has received congratulation messages from government agencies and international organizations.
The event concluded with the award ceremony for the persons who have supported the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation.
